    Directions and conditions for consular work

    Consular services are one of the most important official functions performed by the mission.
    • The embassy is not responsible for the loss of any document. In the event of loss of official documents, a loss certificate must be submitted from the official Kuwaiti authorities.
    • Ensure receipt of the financial receipt.
    • Official working hours are Sunday from 9 am to 1:45 pm, Thursday from 9 am to 12:30 pm.

We at the Embassy of the Republic of Sudan in the State of Kuwait are confident in your eagerness to represent the country abroad in the bright image that befits it as a Sudanese citizen. It is glad to present you with some vital instructions that will help and assist you in order to make your journey and living easier, safeguard you and your family from any challenges, issues, or hurdles that may arise, God forbid, and to save effort, time, and money, represented in the following:

    First: When you want to travel, you must ensure the following:
    • Make sure that your passport is valid for a period of no less than six months and that all members of your family who do not hold individual passports are added in the same passport and that they travel with the holder of the passport issued in his name.
    • Make sure to deal with your travel, accommodation and transportation reservations with licensed offices.
    • Adhere to the laws of carrying personal bags and review prohibited foods and other items inside the plane.
    • The importance of knowing the system in force in the country regarding the entry of cash and restrictions on it, jewelry, and valuable personal belongings. It is best not to carry large amounts of cash.
    • If the goals of your visit are to conduct some business work, then before entering into negotiations with companies or individuals, you must review the laws in the Kingdom before your travel, and seek assistance from the embassy to ensure the sound status of these companies so that they do not fall victim to fraud and forgery, and you must consult a lawyer before concluding any contracts.
    Second: Upon arrival at the airport:
    • Fill out the entry forms accurately, considering accuracy also when answering the inquiries of entry passport officials regarding any information, and answering only the extent of the question.
    • Respect the regulations and laws of the country you are visiting.
    • Declare carefully to the customs employee upon arrival everything that is inside the luggage, and remember that some countries require the arrival to register his possessions of jewelry, money, checks, and other personal belongings if they exceed a certain limit.
    • Make sure to obtain, upon exchange, a receipt for the amounts converted into the country’s currency to show upon departure so that your jewelry and money are not subject to confiscation, as well as receipts for purchasing jewelry and valuables.
    • Keep your passport, as it is your document, as well as your airline tickets and personal belongings in safe places.
    • We advise against giving a general power of attorney, limiting it to the relevant subject, stating the case number and subject clearly, and granting the power of attorney the ability to force a third party or enter into a settlement, reconciliation, waiver, or discharge of liability without recourse when giving one to an individual, an organization, or a lawyer overseas. In order to avoid being taken advantage of, the client may have prior written approval from him that has been formally certified by the appropriate authorities. In such instances, it is best to visit the embassy and ask for help from its knowledge, information, and experience.
    Third: In the event of a desire to reside or work:
    • You must follow the legal procedures for residing there.
    • Make sure you renew residency permits and driver's licenses before they expire, as failure to do so may result in penalties and legal repercussions.
    • Passports and identification papers belonging to family members, coworkers, and other individuals should be given to companions; minor children excluded. This will help you avoid accusations of stealing identity documents and belonging to someone else. Do not keep or carry the identity documents of any other person.
    • Do not mortgage the passport with any party, whatever the matter.
    • Considering the difference in culture and avoiding some behaviors that are familiar to Sudanese culture and that may be unfamiliar to Qatari cultures.
    • Avoid any compliments or admiration for those you do not know, as this behavior could be interpreted as sexual harassment and may be considered a felony.
    • Avoid talking to children or teenagers on the Internet, or inviting them alone to your residence, or being alone with them.
    • All students must respect all regulations in the host country, especially the university system, in terms of adhering to the specified hours of study imposed by it, and respecting public order, morals, other cultures and religions, privacy, customs and traditions of each society, as violating this is punishable by law.
